Campus Impact Grant (CIG)

The Campus Impact Grant is the avenue used to award much needed funds to Historically Black Colleges and Universities.  This competitive grant process is one of a kind.  It demands collaborative efforts between students, faculty and staff on college campuses.  We have designed this grant to stand true to our 5 principles, Collaborate, Accountability, Preserve, Service and Opportunity for positive outcomes that are measurable.

We believe everyone in the college has a duty to insure that campus life is at its best.  Whose better to ask what is affecting campus life than the students?  The CIG is geared towards campus organizations. Allowing them with the supervision and input from staff to assess areas on the campus that need enhancing or updating. Thus, submitting a grant to the Black Foundation requesting funding for the project.  This promotes leadership, organizational structure, delegation of duties and entrepreneurship.  Traditionally students helped their institution after graduation and into their careers.  The Campus Impact Grant program gives students an opportunity to give back while in school.

Overview

Sponsors and supporters to The Black Foundation choose to participate in our fundraisers or to give unrestricted gifts. The earnings from these gifts are distributed through a competitive process designed to help historically black colleges and universities meet the changing needs of the college campus.

The Foundation's Campus Impact Grants Program (CIG) receives grant proposals in November of each year. Following a four-step evaluation process, the Foundation awards grants based on identified campus needs and the relative merit of proposals received.

The Black Foundation publishes guidelines annually to help grant applicants understand the priorities and criteria of our Campus Impact Grants and to help guide our Board of Directors in determining grant awards to meet pressing campus needs.
